The Long Dark is a first-person survival video game developed and published by Hinterland Studio. The player assumes the role of a plane crash survivor who must survive the frigid Canadian wilderness after a global disaster disables all electronics. Welcome to our community! The Rural Store is a unmarked location in The Long Dark. It is located in Pleasant Valley, in one of the sides of Rural Crossroads. A simple, one level store building. Inside you will find some refrigerators, a cash register, some food shelves, a first aid kit and 3 lockers (2 will be locked, Prybar will be needed to open). Nomad is one of the Challenges present in The Long Dark.
Details
In Nomad, the player always starts at Pleasant Valley Farmstead. The objective is to spend three days in each of the fifteen locations provided.
Locations
Challenges can be chosen from the game's main menu. There are currently seven challenges in the The Long Dark. Completing all of them (excluding As The Dead Sleep) yields the Challenge Mastery achievement.
The player is given all fifteen locations at the start of the game. It is not necessary to go to the locations in a specific order.

The Long Dark Challenge
- In the Carto Hydro Dam, the player may stay in either the Upper Dam or Lower Dam. Either area counts towards the same total
- Skeeter's Ridge refers to the basement of one of the ruined houses.
- Crumbling HIghway refers to the basement of the Abandoned Harris Home
- The player has no restrictions in regards to what they do in areas not on their checklist: The game simply doesn't complete until they finish.
- This challenge goes hand-in-hand with the completion of the Achievement: Happy Harvester. So, go ahead and try for both!
